Naylor Report: Call for responses

The Canadian Society for Digital Humanities/Société canadienne des humanités numériques is seeking feedback from the digital humanities community on the Investing in Canada’s Future: Strengthening the Foundations of Canadian Research Report (also called The Naylor Report), created as part of the Fundamental Science Review. The report is available at http://www.sciencereview.ca/.

If you are working in the Humanities and Social Sciences in a digital context in Canada, we would love to hear from you. We are seeking your feedback on the report’s recommendations (p xxv), with a particular interest in the report’s articulation of

  • Canada’s current research competitiveness in comparison to previous decades
  • Support of Humanities and Social Science research in a digital context (Chapter 3 and section 3.4)
  • Funding of postdoctoral fellows and research chairs (sections 7.1 and 7.2)
  • Support of early career researchers (section 5.3.2)
  • Diversity in the research ecosystem (section 5.3.1)
  • Funding for digital research infrastructure, the development of a national digital research infrastructure, and the maintenance of digital scholarship (section 6.2)
