Travel Funding to Congress (for those presenting)

The Canadian Society for Digital Humanities/Société canadienne des humanités numériques invites all students that have had papers accepted to the annual conference as part of Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences to apply for travel funding. Thanks to the generosity of the GRAND NCE project, for a limited time we can also accept applications for financial support from speakers who are in contingent or other precarious positions with no other funding options. 

We fund student presenters at the conference based on the distance from their university of study (or, if different, their place of residence). Each year, following the acceptances of proposals to the conference, successful participants will be contacted to apply for funding and our treasurer will get back to you to let you know if you have been successful (if this describes you, but you haven’t heard from the treasurer by the end of February, please send them an email).

Support for Grants/Conferences

CSDH/SCHN is happy to provide Letters of Support and In-Kind sponsorship to relevant Digital Humanities initiatives. 

Funding for events and conferences is limited to $500 in most cases, and $1000 for large-scale international events. Events should meet the following criteria:

• Be multi-institutional, or open to scholars from outside of a single institution;
• Focus on a topic fitting the spectrum of DH;
• Prioritize student participation; this includes student-run conferences;
• Types of funding include:
  • Connections Grant application matching funds
  • Event Promotion, e.g. printing, social media activities
  • Student travel funds

Other support: We are open to proposals, particularly from students, for other means of promoting DH activities, networking, training, publishing, open knowledge dissemination, and other activities in Canada.
